Man (43) dies weeks after an assault on Albert Cuypstraat

On the night of Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 May 2014 a 43-year-old man was assaulted on Albert Cuypstraat in De Pijp. He was so badly injured that he never recovered: on 5 June 2014, more than two weeks later, he died of the consequences. Three men were arrested in connection with the assault. The main suspect was a resident of Vianen. The case is barely traceable in public reporting. The victim's name was never released, and nothing is publicly known about how the criminal case proceeded — whether it ever led to a prosecution and a conviction.
