Anton van Tienhoven (60) killed with dozens of stab wounds at his home on Van der Hooplaan

On Thursday 25 November 2004 his daughter-in-law found 60-year-old Anton van Tienhoven dead in his home on Van der Hooplaan in Amstelveen. He was lying stretched out on the kitchen floor and, according to reports, had been stabbed 82 times in the neck, chest and abdomen. There were no signs of a break-in. Six weeks later a suspect, Vinoud S., was arrested, but in January 2005 the prosecution had to release him for lack of evidence. Police had several suspects in view but could not gather enough evidence against any of them. The murder has never been solved.
