Corrie Brielsman (71) found dead at home; post-mortem points to robbery-murder

On 15 March 2004 the 71-year-old Cornelia 'Corrie' Brielsman was found dead in her home in Amsterdam. Police initially assumed an accident, but the post-mortem showed she had been the victim of a crime. The investigation focused on a robbery-murder: her bank card had been taken and shortly afterwards a man, described by witnesses as light-skinned, tried unsuccessfully to withdraw money with it. Detectives commissioned DNA testing. Whether that led to a suspect cannot be found in public sources; no judgment in the case has been published. As far as is known, no one was ever convicted of her death.
