Café owner Tariq Mian (41) shot dead in his Diemen café by a drunk customer

On 24 November 2004 the 41-year-old Pakistani Tariq Mian was shot dead in his own café, 't Torentje, in Diemen. According to reports the gunman was a 43-year-old customer who had been gambling all evening and was drunk. What directly triggered the shooting, whether the man was arrested and what sentence he received cannot be found in public sources; no judgment in the case has been published.
