Man dies with 51 stab wounds.

On October 21, 2024, a shocking event took place in the Mataramstraat in Amsterdam's Indische Buurt, where 37-year-old Misha Visser lost his life. Misha was brutally killed in his own home by his 33-year-old neighbor, Selim I., who killed him with no fewer than 51 stab wounds and also attempted to strangle him. The perpetrator had been known in the neighborhood for some time as a confused and nuisance-causing man who caused a great deal of fear and unrest among local residents. Despite the horrific nature of the act, no clear motive could be established during the investigation and trial; the perpetrator simply stated that he could not remember much of the incident and showed almost no remorse during the hearing, stating that "what happened, happened." In September 2025, the court delivered its verdict in this case and sentenced Selim I. to a prison term of 10 years followed by TBS (mandatory psychiatric treatment), with the judge emphasizing that the perpetrator posed an extreme danger to society due to his unpredictable and violent behavior.
