Sait Oyunlu and Fatma Dikayak stabbed to death on Israël Queridostraat in Slotermeer

On Wednesday 6 November 2013 people living nearby heard screaming on Israël Queridostraat in Slotermeer and called the police. Officers found Fatma Dikayak seriously injured in the street outside and Sait Oyunlu dead indoors. Both had been stabbed - Oyunlu nine times, Dikayak seventeen, so she must have fought back hard. Dikayak did not survive either. The killer fled towards the Burgemeester Van Tienhovengracht. Seref C. was arrested in 2014 but had to be released for lack of evidence. Late in 2014 he was suspected of another fatal case in Valkenswaard; he was acquitted of it at two instances, though convicted of setting fire to the getaway car. He was not released, because by then he had been arrested a second time for the double killing in Amsterdam. A knife had been found in bushes near the flat, without blood but carrying DNA from both C. and Oyunlu; C. said the two dealt in heroin together and used the knife to cut open drug packages. Cell material from Oyunlu was also found on his wristwatch. C. kept denying it: he had been at the victims' home that evening, but both were alive when he left. On 2 November 2017 the Amsterdam court sentenced him to fourteen and a half years. On 3 August 2022 the court of appeal made that fifteen years and three months, and on 30 January 2024 the Supreme Court dismissed his cassation appeal.
