Man (31) stabbed to death after a row on Thorbeckeplein

Shortly after four in the morning of Tuesday 5 February 2013 a row broke out between four people on Thorbeckeplein, in the nightlife district of Amsterdam's centre. In the stabbing that followed a 31-year-old man was fatally wounded and did not survive. Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Amsterdam-Noord a short time later. Public information about the case goes no further than that arrest: the victim's name was never released, nothing was made public about what the argument was about, and whether it led to a prosecution and a conviction does not appear in public sources. No judgment in the case has been published.
