Man found dead in home, three underage suspects arrested

The 73-year-old Paul Wyber was found dead on Monday, 11 May 2026, in his home on Lijnbaansstraat in the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. His family had contacted the police because they had not been able to reach him for some time. According to reports, police quickly assumed that Wyber had died as the result of a crime and launched a major investigation, including forensic work, interviews with neighbours and checks of camera footage. According to AT5, Wyber had last been seen alive on King’s Day, 27 April 2026, meaning police considered the possibility that he had already been dead in his home for a longer period before he was found.
