Man dies after hostage situation and fall from apartment block

Emiel den Hollander, twin brother of the singer S10, was held against his will in a flat in Osdorp, where he was subjected to pressure and violence. Investigators say there are strong indications that he jumped from the fourth-floor balcony because he saw no other way out. He was found seriously injured on 16 April 2025 and died of his injuries in hospital on 19 June 2025. The case appears to be linked to a conflict in the criminal underworld. Several suspects have been arrested on suspicion of, among other things, complicity in manslaughter and unlawful deprivation of liberty. The court ruled that four of them may await trial at liberty, while another suspect's pre-trial detention was extended. After a hearing at the Haarlem court, an incident occurred in the car park in which S10's mother was confronted by relatives of a suspect and police had to intervene.
